Facelift in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, FL

Are you unhappy with wrinkles or sagging skin on your face? The most extensive option for reducing or eliminating these wrinkles is a facelift, which can help you to look as young as you feel.

What is a facelift?

During a traditional facelift in Fort Myers, Dr. Brueck will lift the skin off of the face in order to tighten the underlying muscles and tissues. Dr. Brueck may also remove some fat and excess skin. The skin will then be relocated over the face, resulting in a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Any stitches are carefully concealed in the hairline and natural folds.

Although a facelift can result in a younger, healthier looking face, it will continue to age as time passes. If you are experiencing any worry about exhibiting signs of aging, a facelift may be a good option to increase your self-confidence.

A facelift in Cape Coral or Punta Gorda can significantly reduce signs of aging, but cannot eliminate sun damage or all facial wrinkles, including those around the eyes, the lips, and below the nose.

Patients with realistic expectations about facelift surgery are often the happiest with their results. It is important to share your facelift goals and expectations with Dr. Brueck in his Fort Myers office during your consultation.

How long is recovery from a facelift in Fort Myers?

Facelift surgery in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Punta Gorda, FL commonly takes about 90 minutes to complete. This surgery is an outpatient procedure so patients can return home the same day, and will be asked to return for their post-op appointment with Dr. Brueck the next morning. During the week following your procedure, you will need to wear a velcro chin strap to ensure optimal healing.

After surgery, your face will be bandaged and dressings should be able to be removed after one or two days. If you have been placed with a drainage tube, it can also be removed one or two days after the procedure. Stitches will be removed by Dr. Brueck five to ten days after surgery, and pain medication may be prescribed.

Patients should expect to experience swelling and bruising in the face. Cold compresses and elevation of the head can help to reduce these symptoms.

Commonly, patients can return to everyday activities two to three weeks after surgery. Your face may feel stiff at first, though this is normal, and will lessen over time.
